Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon, Vice President of Al-Ahgaff University, took part in the 57th General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, which opened today at the International University of Kuwait. Running from 23 to 24 April 2025 under the theme “Arab Higher Education in the Era of Digital Transformation and Strengthening Regional Integration,” with the participation of a group of heads of universities and academic institutions in the Arab world.
More than 250 Arab universities are participating in this event, which represents a unique opportunity to open horizons for academic cooperation and promote development and advancement in the Arab higher education sector. This is within a framework that promotes the exchange and development of scientific expertise and experiences, in light of technological transformations, innovation, and digital transformation, the expansion of artificial intelligence and e-learning programs, keeping pace with the rapid development in the educational and academic environment, and preparing graduates for the labour market.
In an exclusive interview with the University’s media office, Professor Maknoon explained that his participation reflects Al-Ahgaff University’s strategic commitment to strengthening ties with Arab universities, unions, and academic bodies. He praised the Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities for its role in unifying efforts to elevate higher education and foster intellectual growth, noting the vital role of the youth in confronting the region’s challenges through knowledge.
Concluding his remarks, Professor Maknoon expressed gratitude to both the Association of Arab Universities for organizing the conference and to the International University of Kuwait for its hospitality. He underlined that the forum will open further channels for collaboration in research and scientific studies, benefiting communities across the Arab world.
