Al-Ahgaff University Faculty of Women organizes an activity entitled “Towards a Secure Digital Future” in the presence of a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education

The Faculty of Women at Al-Ahgaff University organized an activity entitled Towards a Safe Digital Future in which the students who won the Inventopia International Innovation Competition organized by the University of Mara, Malaysia, presented a presentation of their winning project in the presence of Prof. Khalid Omar Basleem, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Educational Affairs and his accompanying delegation, and the Vice President of the University, Prof. Sadiq Omar Maknoon.

In their presentation, the students explained the aim of the project and the issue it solves. They also explained the methodology and methods used to analyze, design and then develop the SeeMe application, which helps blind and visually impaired people to move freely, identify objects around them and determine the correct paths for them, calling on the students to be diligent, persevere and move towards achieving their goals and turning ideas into realistic programs.

The students expressed their thanks to their supervisor, Dr Hamza Al-Aidarous, and Al-Ahgaff University for their support and encouragement and their keenness to represent the university in international events and honor the university among universities.

After that, the Vice President of Al-Ahgaff University, Prof. Sadiq Omar Maknoon, honored Prof. Khalid Omar Basleem, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Educational Affairs, with a university shield for his support and standing with the university, and honored the supervisor of the winning team, Dr. Hamza Al-Aidarous, and the team members with certificates of participation and gold medals.

The delegation visited the exhibition of the female students' projects, which showcased the course projects that were developed during the study period, and listened to a detailed explanation of the stages that these projects went through.

 

During the ceremony, Mrs. Maria Ahmed Bukair gave a lecture on remote work opportunities, skills development and finding opportunities, and Mrs. Lina Al-Juaidi gave a lecture on her personal experience in self-employment and the development of her career path. The two lectures aimed to expand the horizons of the graduating students towards the available opportunities for work and how to continue training after graduation in choosing training courses that qualify the graduate for the labor market.

The ceremony was attended by the Dean of Quality and Academic Accreditation at the university, Prof. Ahmed Khured, the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Distance Education, Mr. Zain Salem bin Aqeel, the Dean of the Faculty of Women, Mrs. Sophia Al-Mohammadi, and the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Women, Mrs. Maryam Baharoon.

On the delegation's side, Dr. Lutfi Mohammed Khanbari, Director General of Private University Institutions, Dr. Lutfi Abdullah Qais, Director General of Governmental University Institutions, Dr. Mohsen Hussein Al-Haidari, a member of the evaluation committee, and a number of faculty members of the Faculty of Women and students of the faculty.
