Al-Ahgaff University Participates in Evaluation Workshop for the First Edition of Yemen’s National University Ranking

Al-Ahgaff University, represented by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khured, Dean of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation, participated in the evaluation workshop for the first edition of Yemen’s National University Ranking Tool. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Thursday in the capital, Aden.

The university's participation reflects its commitment to advancing academic quality and actively engaging in national initiatives aimed at enhancing and expanding the higher education sector in Yemen.

The workshop addressed several key areas, most notably the challenges and obstacles encountered during the implementation of the first edition of the ranking. Participants also discussed existing data and criteria gaps, while exploring opportunities for improvement and development.

Several proposals were presented to enhance the effectiveness of the ranking tool for future editions, ensuring more accurate and objective outcomes that foster healthy competition among Yemeni universities and better reflect academic, research, and administrative performance.

The workshop concluded with a presentation of the action plan for the second edition of the ranking, which includes updates to evaluation standards, data systems, and expanded institutional participation to ensure comprehensive and integrated results.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the participating universities for their cooperation during the initial implementation phase. The Ministry reaffirmed its full commitment to supporting further development of the ranking mechanism, aiming for a successful and impactful second edition aligned with the goals of sustainable academic development.
