Al-Ahgaff University held a graduation and farewell ceremony on Wednesday morning, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Abdullah Mohammed Baharoon, celebrating the graduation of the “Pioneers of Development” class from the Accounting program in the Faculty of Administration and Economics, and the Information Technology program in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science.

The ceremony began with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by graduate Ibrahim Mohammed Basurah, followed by a speech from the Vice President of the University, Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon, who welcomed the attendees and conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the University President, whose circumstances prevented him from attending in person.

In his address, Professor Maknoon emphasized that this group of graduates represents a valuable addition to the university’s distinguished alumni and a meaningful contribution to national development after four years of hard work and dedication. He noted that the knowledge and skills they have gained will serve them well as they face the challenges of the future.

He further highlighted that since its establishment, Al-Ahgaff University has been committed to preparing a generation equipped with knowledge, values, and creativity—capable of innovation and competition. “This celebration,” he added, “is living proof of the university’s devotion to its mission.” He concluded by extending gratitude to the faculty members, administrative staff, and parents who supported the students throughout their journey, urging the graduates to consider their degrees as the beginning of a new chapter of service and contribution to their country and community.

Delivering the graduates’ speech, student Mohammed Salem Sawaban expressed heartfelt appreciation to the university leadership, represented by Professor Abdullah Baharoon, as well as to the faculty and deans for their unwavering support throughout the years of study. He described the moment as a defining milestone in their academic and personal lives, also extending thanks to the parents for their constant encouragement and sacrifices.

The event was marked by a joyful and proud atmosphere, enriched by traditional Hadhrami artistic performances that combined local heritage with the celebratory spirit of the graduates and their families.

The ceremony concluded with an honor segment, recognizing university leaders, faculty deans, and faculty members for their dedication, followed by the presentation of certificates and awards to graduates and international competition winners, including:

• The International Creative Innovation Ideas Competition (ICIIC 2024) organized by the MNNF Network, in which the university team competed among 488 submitted ideas from researchers across Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Qatar, and Yemen, earning a Gold Medal.
• The International Competition for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation (iCEBIV 2025) organized by Islamic University of Bandung (UNISBA), Indonesia, in collaboration with MARA University of Technology (UiTM), Malaysia, where the university team won two Gold and one Silver Medals—adding an international dimension to the university’s achievements.

The event was attended by Eng. Faiz Ahmed Bin Shamla, Secretary-General of the University; Mr. Anwar Al-Kasadi, Member of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Hamzah Ali Alaidaros, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science; Dr. Nawfal Bashrahil, Dean of the Faculty of Administration and Economics; Mr. Mohammed Salem Al-Bouri, Head of the Organizing Committee; along with several faculty members, administrative staff, social figures, and parents.
