The Vice President of Al-Ahgaff University, Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon, received on Sunday, in his office in Mukalla, Dr. Nader Saad Al-Omari, Professor of History at the University of Aden and author of The Yafa‘i Encyclopedia, during a fraternal visit aimed at learning about Al-Ahgaff University’s experience in the fields of education and scientific research.
Professor Maknoon warmly welcomed Dr. Al-Omari, praising his distinguished academic career and valuable contributions to historical research. He expressed his pleasure at the visit, viewing it as an important step toward strengthening communication and collaboration among academic scholars across Yemeni universities.
During the meeting, Professor Maknoon provided a comprehensive overview of the educational process at Al-Ahgaff University and the ongoing development of its academic programs and scientific disciplines. He also highlighted the university’s student and research activities that seek to prepare highly qualified graduates capable of contributing effectively to local and regional community service.
Following the meeting, Professor Maknoon and Dr. Al-Omari toured several of the university’s facilities, including the Hadhramout Research Center, one of the university’s leading research institutions, and the University Library, which houses an extensive collection of academic references and specialized books across various disciplines. The tour also included a visit to the Distance Learning College building, one of the university’s key development projects reflecting its commitment to digital transformation in education.
Dr. Al-Omari also visited a number of academic departments, where he met with a group of international students from East Asia and Africa during one of their lectures. He expressed his delight in meeting them, commending their dedication to knowledge and learning, and wishing them continued success and academic excellence.
At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Al-Omari expressed his admiration for the high level of organization and academic excellence he witnessed at Al-Ahgaff University. He praised the university leadership for its continuous efforts to enhance the educational and research environment and emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation and integration among Yemeni universities in the service of science and the nation.
At the end of the meeting, Professor Sadiq Maknoon presented Dr. Nader Al-Omari with a commemorative gift consisting of a selection of academic books and informational brochures about the university.
The meeting was attended by Professor Ahmed Saleh Khured, Dean of Quality and Academic Accreditation; Dr. Hashim Alawi Muqaibel, Legal Advisor to the University; Mr. Zain Salem Bin Aqil, Head of International Student Affairs; Dr. Anwar Bakarkar; and Researcher Ahmed Al-Rubaki.
