The Preparatory Committee for the Second Scientific Conference titled “Hadhramis in East Africa: Integration and Preservation of Identity”, organized by the Hadhramout Research Center at Al-Ahgaff University, held its meeting on Monday, 17 November 2025, to follow up on the ongoing preparations for the conference scheduled to take place at the end of next December.

At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoon, Chair of the Preparatory Committee, welcomed the members and reviewed the progress achieved so far in relation to the conference. This included the receipt of participating research papers, as well as the arrangements for collecting the remaining submissions to ensure complete documentation. He also discussed the mechanisms of screening and peer-review in accordance with approved academic standards to ensure that the conference presents rigorous scholarly content aligned with its objectives.

The meeting also addressed the media coverage plan, during which the committee approved several measures aimed at enhancing the event’s media presence, coordinating live coverage, and engaging with media institutions to highlight the conference outcomes and its scientific themes.

Additionally, the committee discussed logistical arrangements, particularly the selection of the most suitable venue capable of accommodating the expected number of participants, providing an appropriate environment for scientific presentations and accompanying workshops, and ensuring the availability of necessary technical support throughout the conference sessions.

The meeting concluded with several recommendations, including assigning a group of committee members to finalize the remaining organizational tasks and submit the required reports to the committee chair to ensure timely completion of all preparations.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed bin Duhri, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hadhramout Research Center, along with the members of the Preparatory Committee:
