Al-Ahgaff University is preparing to launch the activities of its Second International Scientific Conference at the end of December, under the title:
“Hadhramis in East Africa: Integration and Preservation of Identity.”
The conference will feature the participation of a distinguished group of academics and researchers from Yemen and abroad, reaffirming the profound historical role played by Hadhrami communities in East Africa and their ability to maintain a balance between integrating into new societies and preserving their cultural roots and authentic Hadhrami identity.

The conference also aims to shed light on the Hadhrami experience in various fields—economic, cultural, and educational—and to document the contributions that enriched the social and economic development of those countries.

The program will include a series of specialized research papers, panel discussions, and documentary presentations highlighting Hadhrami migrations, their interaction with the African environment, the challenges they encountered, and the opportunities they created across generations.
